Snow White Treatment:

Many people strive to attain brighter-looking skin, but the battle to achieve an even skin tone can prove tough.

Environmental, as well as genetic factors, can affect your natural skin colour and complexion. Too much sun exposure, for example, can cause hyperpigmentation, where areas of the skin develop unwanted brown freckles or patches.

And some treatments promise success, only to prove disappointing or even damaging to health.

Glutathione IV infusion uneven skin tone treatment

At Skin clinic we offer a highly effective treatment for the management of uneven skin tone – glutathione IV (intravenous) infusions.

Glutathione is an anti-oxidant, naturally present in the body, that inhibits the production of melanin. As melanin is the substance responsible for pigmentation in the skin, glutathione can have a dramatic and positive effect on skin tone and colour.

What is glutathione IV treatment?

Glutathione IV (intravenous) treatment is a revolutionary delivery system for intravenously injecting the cocktail of glutathione and vitamins into your blood stream.

While tablets or vitamin drinks can be compromised by the acids in the stomach, the IV delivery system ensures maximum absorption of the cocktail, increasing its efficacy.

How many sessions will I need?

We will discuss the number of sessions you are likely to need during your consultation. The number depends on how much lighter you would like your skin pigment to be, and how quickly you would like this to happen.

We usually recommend a once-weekly session at the clinic.

Will it hurt?

You may feel slight discomfort when we insert the IV needle into your arm, and experience a little bruising where the drip was inserted. This is minimal and should fade in a day or so.

Are there any side effects?

As glutathione is found naturally in the body and many foods (such as garlic, onions, broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables), side effects of replenishing glutathione are highly unlikely.

Allergic reactions are extremely rare, but you will need to disclose your medical history to the doctor during the consultation for this treatment.

At Skin clinic our qualified and experienced professionals will monitor your progress throughout the treatment program.

What results can I expect?

Results, and the response of your uneven skin tone, to treatment varies from person to person.

Typically, those with Fitzpatrick 4 skin tone should expect a result in 1 to 3 months.

Those with Fitzpatrick 5 skin tone should expect a result in around 4 to 6 months.

Is the treatment permanent?

Treatment with glutathione is not permanent and we will give you a maintenance programme designed for your needs.

To maintain the results, you must avoid excessive sun exposure and we recommend you avoid smoking, a poor diet and misuse of alcohol.

How do I know if I am suitable for glutathione IV treatment?

At Skin clinic all patients have an initial consultation to make sure they are medically fit and well enough for any recommended procedure.

During your consultation, you will need to tell the aesthetician about any past or current medical conditions or concerns. Your doctor will then decide if IV treatment is the right course of action for you.
